May flowers brought lots of showers: bridal- and baby-showers that is!
I've caught the Target fever! I visit their local branches quite often in search of decor finds and inspiration for my own home, as well as for event planning and design needs. With a few baby- and bridal-showers to attend this season and the next, I was in search for a new lineup of spring + summer clothing. Target has a collection of some adorable dresses at a reasonable price. This crimson color dress was under $30! I've been subconsciously drawn towards red lately. Have you noticed? I have no explanation as to why.

Home-Decor: Tips & Tricks
Marriage is the beginning of many firsts and new adventures, and home-decor is the obvious chapter within that book. As we turned the page to "a newlyweds first home" or first apartment, we embarked on many firsts - first sofa, first bed, first cookware, first many things. One of the "firsts" on my checklist was a furniture-to-refurbish. I wanted something old, something with character, and something that was in much need of some sweat and hard-work.
I scored my very first used furniture for our apartment from a local thrift shop - adding something old to my collection of all the new items in the house. A bar cart turned side-table. (I shared the refurbished project along with the before and after results on a blog post last year.) Once you score the piece you want, it's time for the next step that brings everything together in a unified space - location + styling. Mothers Day Gift Box Served in A Tray of Petals
I personally like Mother's Day because it's a special day to celebrate the person who has dedicated so much of her life to me. Although its not the only day I can choose to pamper and celebrate my mother, knowing that there is a day that is nationally recognized sure feels good.
There are many people out there who have lost their mothers early or were never fortunate enough to feel the true love of one. I think if we look into our feelings really deep down, a yearning for this love exists, and it goes to show the true impact of a mother's love on our souls. Without, we could see the dark sides to humanity unfold. But with it, the sky's the limit and the light shines ever so brightly.
That's why, on this day, I especially love celebrating my mother. Like the light she has always looked out for my well being (although sometimes I just didn't see it that way) and tries to acknowledge me on occasions that mattered to me. Although spending some solid quality time is all she really wants as the perfect mother's day gift and nothing extravagant, going that extra mile is the least I like to do, even if it's only to add something just a little thoughtful.
Three Ways to Use and Style A Bar Cart
Although a bar cart is an optional furniture piece in a home, this portable fixture has made a strong come back and look's like it's here to stay! A bar cart is such a classy piece and adds so much to home-decor and entertaining in style. They've been making a statement in events and in living-rooms. Not only can a home bar-cart be a chic decorative piece in itself; it's equally functional and totally versatile! A serving cart is no longer just for showcasing and serving your libations in style. It can serve double-duty by being a bar or dessert station at parties, and a nightstand or side table on regular days. Or, it can have any other use your creative mind can imagine. It can be utilized and styled to easily blend in with the rest of your home decor or stand out as a focal point of entertainment for guests. Deciding the purpose of this piece is the first step in styling and organizing it.
Let’s think about the purpose of your cart for a moment before diving into this topic of styling and organization:
In case you're wondering, my cart is from ZGallerie. This Metropolitan Bar Cart is sleek, contemporary, and quite modest in size. It's mirrored and chrome finish gives it a clean sheen and creates a modern vibe. There are so many different types of bar carts that I am absolutely obsessed with, but I wanted something that was reasonably priced and looked clean and simple. So, here you go: |
