DIY Holiday banner and a decor bowl
I had posted an initial sneak peak on my Instagram account when I started to put together my mini DIY holiday banner using leftover wedding invitation cards. Yep, those were once part of an invitation card. I am happy to be able to share with you the finished look. I hope you like it and it will inspire you to create something of your own.
Cut out mini triangular pieces from the card. Use a sharpie to write down a letter in each piece to say what you wish your banner to read. Use the glue gun and glue-stick to attach the pieces to the thread - alternating between triangular shapes and the circular stickers.
Prepare the glass bowl by inserting a light layer of moss. Then add the string lights. Make sure to insert the batteries in advance! On top of that start laying down more grass with the tips of the bulbs sticking out just enough to allow light.
Grab the stones and layer the grass to create an illusion of the outdoors. Cover up the black wires as much as possible leaving the ends of the lights exposed. Place each item in the charge as you like to create your story.
Take the two branches and tie each end of the banner strings to each branch.
And there you have it! When the lights come on, you get that glowing in the dark pathway effect from Avatar - no kidding.
