Short hair and sophisticated Up-do

The wedding season is in full-swing, and my calendar is full of bridal shower and baby shower invites leading up to wedding days! As you may already know, I have short hair. My style is very simple when it comes to make-up and hair-dos. I barely know how to use my curling iron, and never know how to do an up-do with such short hair. At a loss for ideas, I reached out to my friend Mahmuda from Girl_Ishh, who does bridal and special occasion hair-do and always knows how to make me feel good! We partnered up to feature a hair-style for your next event!

I wanted something that has a lot of texture and a hairstyle look thats powerful yet feminine. After going through a few ideas, we decided to go with an up-do that's a bit edgy and fun, and one that will accentuate my elongated neck and complement the high-collared white lace top. This beautifully sculptured, mohawk-inspired up-do is sure to make a statement and is perfect for any formal events, weddings, bridal events, or even prom! Imagine hair-accessories or even fresh flowers incorporated into this style! For wedding related events, white might be acceptable at a South Asian bridal shower or event where red or blush is the go-to color for brides. So, be mindful of the dress-code and the event you are attending.

To dress up this look, I kept jewelry and accessories to a minimum, so to not take away from the hair-style. I would normally pair this skirt and look with a nude, strapped-heels, but I went with the laser cut leather to add to the white lace top.

As we headed for the Gaithersburg Marriott Washingtonian Center, we stopped by the water to pay a visit to our friends, ducky and turtle!

My goodness do I love this hair-style and the work Mahmuda did to create it. It stayed in place without any extra effort from me. It also maintained it's shape and form throughout the entire day!
